"London designers Cute Circuit wanted a colorful French manicure that would match the bright colors of its Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Celebrity manicurist Gina Eppolito began working on the nails days before the show began Thursday by mounting approximately 200 individual almond shaped tips to boards using sticky putty adhesive. She used Cuccio Colour's Cupid in Capri as the first coat then followed using Tahitian Villa for an iridescent pearl hue that was the center of the manicure. The half moon at the cuticle was over exaggerated using St Bart's in a Bottle and the free edge was finished off in a custom formulated orange that Cuccio Colour created especially for the Cute Circuit show.
The toes, visible in open toe flat sandals, were polished during backstage prep with one coat of Cupid in Capri and one coat of Tahitian Villa for a white iridescent finish. The High Gloss Top Coat and Quick Dry Drops, both from Cuccio Nail Solutions, were applied to complete the look."
I am very excited to introduce the latest collection from Deborah Lippmann for fall 2014- New York Marquee. Six brand new foil chrome finish polishes that light up the sky!
According to Lippmann's site, "Lights, camera glamour! Nails take the center stage in rich, radiant color inspired by New York Art Deco."
The New York Marquee collection includes:
12th Street Rag: a magenta pink with a chrome foil finish.
I'll Take Manhattan: an aqua green foil chrome with a sea blue undertone. Very Ariel from "The Little Mermaid."
Harlem Nocturne: a vivid indigo foil chrome with purple undertones.
Autumn in New York: a gorgeous gilded yellow gold foil chrome.
Lullaby of Broadway: a rose gold foil chrome with silver undertones.
Take the "A" Train: a true gunmetal foil chrome.
(all swatches shown here are two coats, applied over a ridge filling base coat.)
As a whole I really love this collection! Good foil chromes are very difficult to come by on the market, and these truly pack a punch. They are all highly saturated in pigment, and covered the nail fully in a single coat. I highly recommend using a ride filling base coat, for as you can see in some of my pictures, any and all imperfections will become visible. That's just the nature of chrome finish polishes. The polishes dried very quickly, which is always a major plus in my book. I strongly suggest painting with the traditional 3-step method, down the sides, then a final stripe down the middle, to avoid brushstrokes. It might seem like these polishes are difficult to work with, but they really aren't, and the end results are truly phenomenal and well worth it. The ancient proverb still holds true- practice makes perfect.
My personal favorites from the collection include: Lullaby of Broadway, Take the "A" Train, and Harlem Nocturne.
Each of the colors in the New York Marquee collection retails for $20.

I recently got to try the awesome collaboration collection of celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi with hip fashion label tibi. The collection consists of 5 mineral shimmering shades, along with a quick dry matte top coat.
As a whole, each color is so beautiful and unique. I can’t even begin to compare them to any of the 500+ polishes in my collection. These truly take the cake!!
Not only are the shades beautiful, but they a applied perfectly smooth and covered completely in 2 coats.
Jasper: a shimmering deep burgundy red.
Mica: a holographic black. Reminds me of a 90’s hologram!! This is my personal favorite color in the collection. A MUST for any polish lover.
Obsidian: a creamy black chalked full or micro fine iridescent glitter particles.
Azurite: a shimmering navy blue.
Epidote: a shimmering deep dark olive green.
Matte Maker: a quick drying top coat that also applied very smoothly. Gave each of the colors a satin finish.
The polishes retail for $18 each.
