these bubble flowers made out of gel are taking Instagram by storm. Here is how to make them yourself
I am excited to introduce to you all not one but two new collections for Spring 2018 from LeChat Nails.
“We cordially invite you to be our guest for tea time this Spring 2018 to celebrate the new Perfect Match English Rose collection. These romantic and classic polishes are guaranteed to delight at the next high tea!
Perfect Match English Rose features muted pastel and nude shades including French Vanilla, a classic light beige cream; Royal Tea, a milky taupe cream; Chamomile, a light marigold cream; Tea Party, a pastel blush orange cream; Cucumber Mint, a soft sage mint cream and Violet Rose, a radiant orchid cream.”
The collection is comprised of the following shades-
Chamomile: a buttery yellow cream.
Tea Party: a salmon cream.
French Vanilla: a vanilla cream.
Royal Tea: a super soft greige cream.
Violet Rose: a soft lavender cream.
Cucumber Mint: a light green cream.
(all swatches shown here are 2 coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).
This collection is super wearable. I can already tell clients will go gaga over French Vanilla. They are all well pigmented, and applied smoothly and easily.
“LeChat’s Spring 2018 Perfect Match English Rose collection can be found online at lechatnails.com. The Dare to Wear Nail Lacquers are $3.25 each or can be purchased as a set with the Perfect Match Gel Polish for $16.67 each.”
And for the second new collection-
The holographic, fan-favorite Spectra is back in 12 brand new, sparkling polishes that emit tiny rainbow
solar flares at your fingertips!
The 12 new colors include:
Aurora—Berry holographic glitter
Mars—Deep coral holographic glitter
Asteroid—Gold holographic glitter
Gemini—Blue holographic glitter
Neptune—Green holographic glitter
Outer Space—Dark violet holographic glitter
Galactic Pink—Bubblegum pink holographic glitter
Nebula—Soft salmon holographic glitter
Shooting Star—Yellow holographic glitter
Nene—Lime holographic glitter
Jupiter—Teal holographic glitter
Gravity—Ultramarine blue holographic glitter
Now I don’t have swatches of the entire 12 piece collection, but I do have 7 of the shades I will share with you-
Gemini: a holo true blue.
Gravity: a holo dark blue. It is much darker shade of blue than Gemini.
Aurora: a holo fuschia pink.
Gaqlactic Pink: a light holo pink.
Mars: a holo orange.
Neptune: a holo grass green.
Nebula: a holo mocha brown.
(all swatches shown here are 2 coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).
I personally really Love and adore this collection. The colors really pop and come to life outside in the sun; though they still look beautiful indoors as well. Like the other collection swatched and shared here, these painted on smoothly and easily and didn’t give me any issues whatsoever.
“The Perfect Match Spectra collection is available at lechatnails.com for $16.67 each or at an authorized
LeChat distributor near you. Please contact your sales representative for additional information.”

Embody the exotic cultures of the globe with these lively new shades: Hot Child in the City, a full coverage bright orange creme, Shut up and Dance, a full coverage poppy pink creme, I'm too Sexy, a full coverage sandy nude creme, Stargasm, a full coverage gold shimmer, and Stupid Boy, a full coverage royal cobalt creme." according to the official press release. Please be advised, Stupid Boy, not featured here, is a Sephora exclusive shade.
The Summer collection is comprised of the following shades-
Stargasm: a shimmering rose gold. [full coverage rose gold]
Hot Child in the City: a bright almost neon coraly orange cream. [full coverage bright orange]
I'm too Sexy: a full coverage light nude cream. [full coverage sandy nude]
Shut up and Dance: a bright shimmering pink, that reflects light. [full coverage poppy pink]
(all swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light.)
I absolutely Love this collection. I think its very fun, and completely wearable. The nude, I'm too Sexy, is so gorgeous and virtually perfect, will completement so many different skin tones well becuase it has just the right amount of rosey undertones. The orange, Hot Child in the City, is so vibrant and will look so gorgeous on toes, as will Shut up and Dance. Rose gold, Stargasm, is a tricky color to produce and many brands don't get it quite right. I think Deborah has finally made a great one. The formula is just right, and the color is spot on!
I found the formula on all of the shades awesome and super easy to work with. The bottle's brush is my absolute favorite, it hugs the cuticles just right and makes for an easy paint job.
This collection is out and available now, retailing for $20 a bottle (.5 fl oz / 15 mL)

"Don't think. Just get in the car and drive. Go with your most colorful instincts and take a spur of the moment trip down the coast. Inspired by sun-filled beach days and spectacular sunsets of Baja, California, the essie spring 2017 collection features warm inviting hues that create the perfect mood for a springtime filled with fashionable adventures.
With Baja in mind, essie Global Color Designer Rebecca Minkoff helped inspire the landscape of colors of the spring 2017 collection- the sapphire waves, the sandy shores and the brilliant, creamy pink sunsets over the cactus-filled desert. These stunning, vivid colors provide the perfect palette for spring and are the idyllic backdrop for a road trip with your best friends. So grab your girls and hit your favorite route- this colorful essie road trip is calling your name.
Sparked by a fuchsia b'aha moment and fueled by the perfect plum playlist a la the designated dj, the ride of your life just won't stop- except maybe for a cutie in the car next to you, excuse me, sur. The vibrant green avocado of on the roadie drives 'em wild, every time. Backseat besties can't help but laugh out loud when they get punchy in guava pink. Azure sapphire is all the wave, making a splash in an oceanic hue of blue that's the perfect way to express yourself in signature essie chic." according to the official press release.
The Essie Spring 2017 collection includes the following shades-
Designated DJ: a deep purple plum creme.
Escuse me, Sur: a fun flamingo pink creme.
On the Roadie: a grass green creme.
Backseat Besties: a carnation pink creme.
All the Wave: a rich deep blue cream. A 1 coat wonder!
B'aha Moment: a raspberry pink cream. A 1 coat wonder!
(all shades shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural sunlight).
This collection is comprised of 6 fun creme shades. I found them to be highly pigmented, slightly more so than usual, with a couple of them being one coat wonders. I think the shades are very fun and wearable, with some of the bolder colors people might reserve for their pedicures.
I didn't experience any issues what so ever with the formula. They all painted on smoothly and beautifully with ease.
The collection is out now and retails for $9 each.

I had a chance to meet with Kokoist (one of the top gel brands from Japan) at this years ISSE Trade Show in Long Beach, California, and they filled me in on some of their latest products, of which I am going to share with you all here.
The 3 latest products from Kokoist include:
E-148 Blackest Black: this is a potted gel, of jet black. If you are looking for one coat coverage look no further, you have found the Holy Grail! I however absolutely Love this product for nail art. It doesn't smear, smudge, or bleed. It is incredibly well pigmented, and I don't even have to stir it prior to using it. There is no need to go over anything you've painted. Also worth mentioning this product is great to use with transfer foil on the cured tacky layer. It retails for $16.80.
Thin Liner Brush: a super fine brush for doing highly detailed and intricate nail art. The brush is very light weight and feels great in my hand. There is a nice finish to the brush, which provides for a great grip. I also Love and appreciate that the brush comes with a cap. I hate brushes that don't come with caps. It retails for $17.80.
MD-P Mermaid Dust: a sparkly iridescent fine glitter that has a beautiful magical effect. Depending on the base color you apply this glitter to, the outcome will be totally different. Here I show you the Mermaid Dust over both a black base, which creates a gorgeous color shifting effect of red/copped/green/gold that alters with the light's reflection, or for a more subtle shimmery effect, you can see the Mermaid Dust used over a light blue base. Either way the pot is very generous and only a tiny amount of glitter is required, so this jar will last a long time. All I did was brushed a small amount of it onto the cured base color, and did two coats of top coat to seal it in. It retails for $12
I highly recommend you give these and other products from Kokoist a try. The quality is truly exceptional. There is a reason why this is hailed as one of the best brands from Japan.

I am so excited to share with you some new pigments I've been playing around with from Daily Charme, the online nail art Mecca shop.
I know there are soooooo many chrome pigments on the market, at all various price points, but the old adage- "you get what you pay for," definitely holds true. I have tried so many different "chromes" that were not mirror AT ALL. Some looked like a fuzzy gray- Horrible!
These pigments however from Daily Charme are truly magical.
First up I have the Star Dusts to share with you. These provide a magical iridescence. They can be applied over white (as shown here), black for a completely different effect, or over any color to add a candy-like coating and iridescence.
Here I have Star Dusts (2g) in-
Sapphire: a green and pink iridescence
Amethyst: a purple iridescence.
Emerald: a green iridescence.
Topaz: a golden iridescence.
I also played around with some of Daily Charmes incredible chromes.
Mirror Chrome no.3: the most shiny mirror-like silver I have ever seen. I put mine over a silver gel polish base for the most mirror effect. (2.5g)
Mirror Gold: a light yellow gold mirror chrome. I put mine over a gold gel polish base to intensify the effect. (1g)
Holographic Unicorn: an ultra fine silver hologram, that can be applied over any color to achieve different results. (1g)
For all of the swatches shown here I used the Gossip gel, cured for 1 full minute in an LED light, and used the silicone tool to rub the pigments in.
The Gossip Gel is a non-wipe soak off top coat that is needed to achieve the chrome effect (12 ml 0.42 oz). I really enjoyed the consistency of formula, and the bottle had a nice weight and feel to it as well. I used to only cure it for 30 seconds in an LED light, however I have found that my chrome results are much better when the gel is cured for a full 1 minute. Also I find the silicone tool the best for rubbing in the pigments because it uses very little product and rubs it in truly and fully. I have seen many other technicians online using eye shadow sponges, which will get the job done, however I find they absorb and waste a lot of product.
I highly recommend you give these pigments a try, they are absolutely incredible and hands down the best I have tried. I know they are a bit pricey, but a tiny amount goes a very long way, and the results are unparalleled, which clients will love and come back to you again and again.
And for those of you who are interested in chrome, but aren't sure of the steps, make sure to watch the video linked below.

Hi guys. I hope everyone has had a very Happy Holidays.
I am so excited to share this latest innovation with you all from the folks over at Aora.
It takes a lot to get me exited about something new in the nail industry, but I have found it. Introducing GEP gel from Aora! Forget the conventional and generic cat-eye magnetic nails people are doing, GEP gel color is said to look like “Northern Lights in Alaska, some say space nebulas and starbursts.”
Aora GEP is incredible, so cool and unique, and super easy to use.
Everything you need to get started comes in the kit. Begin with the Grip Base. Two coats of Black gel, which is incredibly well pigmented, and from what I believe is pure gel in a bottle, not a gel polish. I would use this gel on its own, its an excellent black gel. Then comes the magic- paint on a thin layer of the numbered color gel, shown here I have GEP #’s 5 and 6, do not cure, hold the magnet over the uncured gel for a few seconds, once the desired design is achieved cure. Finish it all off with Titanium Top Coat, an excellent non-wipe super shiny top coat.
Pictures and videos do not do this product justice. If I had a dollar for every complement I’ve gotten on my nails I would be Rich $$$!
I highly recommend you pick up a GEP kit for yourselves or your salon. Your clients are going to absolutely fall in love.
The GEP Kit, retails for $59.95, and then each color of GEP can be purchased individually for $29.95.

"Bringing to life a palette of modern earth tones that evoke the rich, diverse hues found in nature, Dermelect Cosmeceuticals' brand new 'ME' 2016 Unearthed Collection features six vibrant shades that marry the beauty of Mother Nature with the opulence of high fashion runway trends.
"The Unearthed Collection was inspired by the colors of the season, which are drawn from various elements of nature, including lava, copper, soil and bright foliage," said Elle, Celebrity Nail Tech and Dermelect Color Curator. "Our palette is meant to awaken a new appreciation for nature's unparalleled beauty by delivering modern earth tones that are equally varied in color and texture yet come together to create unexpected synergy."
Beyond importing gorgeous, long-lasting color on nails and toes, Dermelect's Unearthed Collection gives back to the earth it draws inspiration from by partnering with the non-profit Trees for the Future (trees.org). The brand has committed to plant one, new tree for every polish sold from the collection through April 2017 with a minimum donation of 10,000 trees planted. Trees for the Future improves the livelihoods of impoverished farmers by revitalizing degraded lands and planting over 128 million trees over the world to help people break out of poverty and address the global environment.
"Trees for the Future is thrilled to partner with Dermelect," said John Leary, Executive Director of Trees for the Future. "We applaud Dermelect for their commitment to making this planet a more beautiful place." according to the official press release.
The Unearthed Collection is comprised of the following shades-
Diggin' You: a brown cream, with slight mauve/purple undertones. [creme burnt umber]
To the Core: a chrome orangey/copper. [russet copper]
Verdure: a dark mysterious jungle green cream. [lush hunter green]
What A Gem: a light pearlized pink. [shimmery pale quartz]
Nobody's Fool: a shiny yellow gold with very yellow undertones. [chrome marigold]
Magmatized: a deep cranberry crimson red cream. [fiery red]
(all swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).
After reading the story behind the collection I was not only quite moved, but I had a new found respect for the colors. Everything suddenly made complete sense and told a story. At first glance I felt the shades were highly autumnal and told a story, but after reading about the inspiration behind the collection and the charity aspect I was pleasantly pleased and surprised.
The colors are very gorgeous and take on a life of their own. Some of the shades I think perhaps are more desirable than others, but needles to say, that doesn't mean someone out there might have a huge love and penchant for copper polish.
I found all the colors painted on smoothly and evenly, including Nobody's Fool, which I anticipated to be quite streaky; the nature of the beast.
My personal favorites include: Diggin' You and What A Gem.
The Polishes retail for $14 each [11 ml or .4 fl oz], or $29 as a set, and are available now on http://dermelect.com/

I am absolutely in LOVE with this latest line from Essie. When I was first exposed to it back in April at the Nail Pro Pasadena trade show I was super impressed- the bottle, the packaging, the bristles, the brush, the pigmentation, almost everything about it.
I don't think I have ever used a polish that painted on more smoothly, evenly, or as easily as this does. The contoured brush bristles make painting near the cuticle area a dream come true. The revolutionary swirl design on the brush helps prevent polish dripage, which can be a huge bummer not to mention a complete mess.
The fact that the polish dries faster than conventional polishes is a huge plus not only for me as a tech, but more importantly for my clients who impatiently wait for their nails to dry. And if I am working on a set, this product line is an absolute dream come true.
The color offerings are perfect too. Not too many colors, but just enough to please everyone's taste and preferences.
The top coat is smooth, and pleasantly plump.
One of my biggest concerns was storage. I was worried that due to the beautiful shape of the bottles, I would have issues storing the polishes on my nail polish wall racks. Need not fear. The bottles fit perfectly, and aligned very beautifully at an elegant angle.
Some of my personal favorites include: Make the Cut, Caviar Bar, and Rock the Runway.
essie's gel couture nail polish retails at $11.50 per bottle and will be available at http://www.essie.com/gel-couture, fine salons and beauty destinations nationwide.
"Travel feeds the soul. Adventure excited the senses. For thrilling sights in an array of shades, Antigua is the place to just be. From St. John's to English Harbor, the island's colorful towns, gorgeous craft makers, tribal text-styles and brilliant food excite the senses and are ripe for the ideal inspiration for the essie summer 2016 collection.
Summertime is the moment to get inspired by adventurous color, and there is no better place to defy convention and go bold, than the sun-soaked shores of Antigua! Leave the guidebook behind and strike out on a style itinerary all your own. No matter where you go, there's an essie Summer 2016 shade to reflect your fashion ambitions." according to the official press release.
The Essie Summer 2016 Collection includes the following shades-
Hiking Heels: a bright bold cherry red cream. [scorching hot lava red]
Viva Antigua!: a turquoise blue with fine shimmer running through it. [iridescent crystalline turquoise]
Coconut Cove: a vanilla white cream. [sweet cream white]
Loot the Booty: a royal blue with fine blue and purple shimmer in it. [pave sapphire blue]
Tribal Text-Styles: a midnight sparkling gunmetal. [black gold and crushed onyx]
Berried Treasure: a bright red/magenta cream. [bright ruby berry]
(all swatches shown here are two coats and are taken outdoors in natural sunlight).
What I am most impressed and in love with this collection is the formula, how highly well pigmented the shades were. Almost all of the colors in this collection provided almost complete coverage in a single coat, it was truly remarkable. I used two coats as usual just for good measure.
I also really love the sparkly nature of many of the colors, perfect for summer pedicures.
And even if your not head over heels in love with this entire collection, trust me and at least invest in a couple of the colors; the formula is honestly that good!
My personal favorites are: Tirbal Text-Styles and Loot the Booty
Each bottle is 13.5 ml (0.46 fl oz).
Essie's Summer 2016 Collection retails at $9 per bottle and will be available June 2016
