Shine bright like an “Azature” Diamond

Shine bright like an “Azature” Diamond 0

Check out some of the latest shades of Azature Black Diamond Nail Polish I got to review.  Like all Azature polishes, each bottle of polish is infused with a black diamond! The colors are beautiful, and I always love the little individual stories printed on the back of the bottles.

The colors swatched here include:

White: standard bright French tip white. The story on the back reads: "This shade is inspired by the faint white diamond. White captures the energy of light, and it brightness and clarity is associated with purity and fresh starts."

Gold Diamond: a shimmering metallic yellow gold.  I find most metallic polishes to be quite streaky in application, but this shade was a dream to work with.  Absolutely streak free and paints on very smoothly. The story on the back reads: "This shade is inspired by the gold diamond.  Gold represents achievement and glamour with its eye catching shimmer -- and its the color of first place the world over."

Wine Diamond: a glittery glistening deep magenta wine color. The story on the back reads: "This shade is inspired by the wine diamond.  The versatile color plays well with a range of tones, calling to mind balance & harmony."

Charcoal Diamond: a shimmering multi- faceted dark coco color. The story on the back reads, "This shade is inspired by the charcoal diamond, the confluence of blues, black, and grey give this color a depth and strength."

Plum Diamond: a shimmery blurple, depending on the shifting of the light, the shade can appear anywhere from a deep metallic purple to a dark sultry blue. The story on the back reads, "This shade is inspired by the plum diamond. Plum is a deep, feminine color that reflects spirituality and mystery."

Blush Diamond: a ballet pink slipper.  The story on the back reads, "This shade is inspired by the blush diamond. The playful, young shade is a modest-yet-girly play on pink."

(each swatch shown here was 2 coats for full opacity, and a top coat.)

Zoya- Spring 2014 “Awaken”

Zoya- Spring 2014 “Awaken” 0

For Spring 2014 Zoya came out with a beautiful slightly pastel shimmery collection entitled “Awaken”. There are 6 shades in total, and they are the perfect transitional shades to the coming warm summer months.

The “Awaken” collection includes:

Dot: a pretty pale pink. Was initially released for fashion designer Zang Toi’s SS 2014 collection.

Brooklyn: a metallic sun kissed yellow gold. As with most metallic polishes, I found the formula to be a little streaky, so I would recommend using a ridge filler as a base coat.

Cole: a creamy peach. Was initially released during New York Fashion Week for Peter Som’s SS14 collection.

Dillon: a shimmering light sea foam minty green.

Rebel: a shimmering azure blue.

Hudson: a shimmering orchid purple.

Each coat shown here was 2 coats for full opactiy.

Each shade retails for $9

Zoya- Magical PixieDust Spring 2014

Zoya- Magical PixieDust Spring 2014 0

For Spring 2014, Zoya introduced a brand new beautiful line to their already popular PixieDust textured polishes, the Magical PixieDust collection.  What sets this collection apart from Zoya’s conventional matte textured glitter polishes, is these are infused with my personal favorite- large holographic glitter particles.  These bad boys sparkle and shine like no ones business, and I am a huge fan. The 3 shades in this initial collection include: Cosmo: a silver, with holographic glitter infused. My personal favorite in this collection.  I can’t get enough of this particular shade!! Vega: a light blue, with holographic glitter infused. Lux: a baby pink, with holographic glitter infused. (all swatches shown here were 2 coats for full opacity, and NO Base or Top coat, as recommended by Zoya.) Each shade retails for $10. Gel II Rave Glow in the Dark Gel Polish Review!

Gel II Rave Glow in the Dark Gel Polish Review! 0

I recently played around with Gel II’s Rave, an awesome glow in the dark gel polish that is quite unique!

As with many of Gel II’s gel polishes, they are always coming up with the latest in nail technology, and this product is no different.

Rave does not require a base coat or a primer.  It can be used on its own, and goes on clear.  Or, it can be used as a top coat over any other gel polish shade you prefer and it wont alter the color.  The glow effect was quite strong and vibrant and I was highly impressed.  I can not wait to try this out on a full manicure and see all the compliments I receive.

ARTGENiC the hygienic Gel!!

ARTGENiC the hygienic Gel!! 0

I recently got to try out the first and only hygienic gel available on the marketplace= ARTGENiC.  ARTGENiC gels come from Japan, and are formulated with Nano Silver, which is said to posess natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

I LOVE this gel for so many reasons.  First, it comes in professional jars, as opposed to the polish-style bottles.  This means the nail technician has to paint on the gel, which allows for a more controlled application, and looks better to the customer.  In addition, the jars allow you to  you mix colors together easily to create new colors.

I have never seen gels in a jar that cure in both LED or UV light systems. This can save a lot of time when performing a manicure.  Also this gel is highly fantastic for doing any nail Art related work! I did some various Union Jacks/British Flags as a quick demonstration.

The 3 gel colors I tried were:

Non-Yellowing White 001: classic pure white. Would be excellent to use in a French Manicure.

Forever Black 107: the perfect black.

XOXO 109: a deep dark red.

The formula was Excellent and self- leveling on all colors.

All swatches shown here have a Base G (clear base), 2 coats of color, cured each in an LED lamp for 30 seconds, and Brush on Top Gel.

Color Effects Gel Top Coats from LUXIO by Akzentz Swatches

Color Effects Gel Top Coats from LUXIO by Akzentz Swatches 0

I recently had the privilege of trying 2 of the awesome “Effects Top Coat Gels” from LUXIO by Akzentz.

These top coats can be used as the final step in your manicure to give a whole new look to your base gel color. For the swatches shown here, I used both Effects Top Coat shades over a Black base (Noir– from Luxio) and a White base (Polar from Luxio).

Purple Effects: micro fine irridescent purple shimmer suspended in a clear base. Takes me back to my youth! Over Noir (a black base), it creates a spectacular dark sparkly fine glitter purple.  Over Polar (a white base), it casts a sparkly pinkish purple glow.

Copper Effects: micro fine light copper shimmer suspended in a clear base. Over Noir (a black base), it creates a sort of “galactic space” effect.  Over Polar (a white base), it casts a soft golden coppery glow.

Nude Shades from LUXIO by Akzentz Soak Off Gel Swatches 0

I recently had the privilege of trying out some lovely nude shades of gel polish from LUXIO by Akzentz. I found the formula on all of the gel colors to be quite thick and great, thicker than most gel polishes on the market, and this provided for a more smooth and controlled product application.

Delicate: a soft baby pink.

Neutral: a rich dusty rose.

Whisper: an opaque creamy nude skin tone shade.

Cremelle: a sheer creamy nude.

Each of the swatches shown are 2 coats of gel color, cured each for 30 seconds in an LED light.

That’s It? Instant Nail Art Crystal Clear Nail Glitter/Shimmer Swatches

That’s It? Instant Nail Art Crystal Clear Nail Glitter/Shimmer Swatches 0

I am obsessing over these That’s It? opalescent nail glitters and shimmers. They take me back to my youth when everything seemed fairy like, fanciful, and purely magic.  These could each make an excellent shimmer top coat gel for any base color, especially a dark color; or the 3 could be mixed together to create a beautiful crystal opalescent iridescent color.

For the swatches shown here, I mixed equal parts nail glitter with clear gel. Each was 3 thin coats.

Shimmer Large #92241– has a lot of micro fine blue shimmer.

Opal Hex Large #92226– micro iridescent fine glitter particles, with a fine green glow tint to them.

Iridescent Hex Small #92219– small iridescent round glitter pieces.
