FACE Stockholm Nail Polish Swatches + Review

FACE Stockholm Nail Polish Swatches + Review 0

I am very excited to introduce to my readers FACE Stockholm's Nail Polish Line.  These lovely lacquers come in a gorgeous variety of over 130+ shades and finishes, ranging from cremes, glitters, crackle top coats, to holographic.

According to the FACE Stockholm website: "Our exclusive three-free formula contains no DBP, Toluene or Formaldehyde and is available in a variety of long lasting hues. A full spectrum of sheer iridescence, deep color and glitter to take you from classic to cutting edge with just a few brush strokes."  They retail for $12 each.

And regarding their holographic lacquers: "A new dimension in nail color, this special effect polish offers high impact holographic shimmer.  Each shade captures the light to reveal a full spectrum of radiant, iridescent color combinations.  Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP-free." They retail for $16 each.

The shades I have swatched here include:

#33: a gorgeous deep jungle green.

#72: a beautiful bright peacock blue.

#15: a multi-colored medium sized hexagonal glitter in a clear base.

Aura: a lavender pink tinged holographic shade.

Athena: a silver holographic shade.  My personal favorite of the shades shown here!!

(each color shown here is 2 coats, with a top coat.)

Overall I am very impressed with FACE Stockholm's line of nail polish.  The formula was great, and applied very smoothly, and provided full coverage in two coats, even with the glitter (#15).

I am personally swept away with the Holographic polishes in their line! Typically holographic polishes can be a major pain to work with, and require specific nail bed preparation, or a special base coat to make the holographic effect truly pop, but not these!  I have been searching for years now for the perfect holographic polishes, and at long last I have finally discovered the perfect ones.

I highly recommend my readers pick up some FACE Stockholm polish for themselves and give it a try, you wont regret it.

CND Vinylux- Summer 2014 “Paradise” Collection

CND Vinylux- Summer 2014 “Paradise” Collection 0

I would describe CND’s latest summer 2014 "Paradise" Collection as Bold, bright & beautiful.  The 7 day wearing, chip free, fast drying Vinylux line created by the master minds at CND, have done it again with yet another fabulous collection.

What I love most about the Vinylux collection, besides the week long wear, is the no need for a base coat, saving tons of time when performing manicures, and saving on unnecessary product, it’s a win win.

The Paradise Collection includes:

Sultry Sunset: a metallic shimmering magenta.

Cerulean Sea:a creamy aqua blue.

Bicycle Yellow: a shimmering streak-free sunny yellow.  Usually I find yellows difficult to work with, but this was smooth sailing, streak free, and a pleasure to paint with.

Lush Tropics: a bright green. Reminds me of my childhood in the 90’s.

Tango Passion:a shimmering pink purple.

Electric Orange: a bright creamy orange.

(each shade shown here was 2 coats for full opacity, with the Vinylux weekly Top Coat.)

Zoya- Spring 2014 “Awaken”

Zoya- Spring 2014 “Awaken” 0

For Spring 2014 Zoya came out with a beautiful slightly pastel shimmery collection entitled “Awaken”. There are 6 shades in total, and they are the perfect transitional shades to the coming warm summer months.

The “Awaken” collection includes:

Dot: a pretty pale pink. Was initially released for fashion designer Zang Toi’s SS 2014 collection.

Brooklyn: a metallic sun kissed yellow gold. As with most metallic polishes, I found the formula to be a little streaky, so I would recommend using a ridge filler as a base coat.

Cole: a creamy peach. Was initially released during New York Fashion Week for Peter Som’s SS14 collection.

Dillon: a shimmering light sea foam minty green.

Rebel: a shimmering azure blue.

Hudson: a shimmering orchid purple.

Each coat shown here was 2 coats for full opactiy.

Each shade retails for $9

Gel Color by OPI- Brazil Collection Spring/Summer 2014

Gel Color by OPI- Brazil Collection Spring/Summer 2014 0

I recently had the privilege of reviewing some of the hottest gel colors from OPI’s latest collection for Spring Summer 2014- Brazil.  The color palette is highly diverse in this collection, meaning every customer will be satisfied with one of the gorgeous shades offered.

I am also very happy to state that a lot of the colors in this collection happened to be what I love to call “1 Coat Wonders”. Usually this is a term I render solely to conventional nail polish, but in this instance, many of the hues in this collection I had complete coverage and opacity with a single coat.  This cuts manicure time in half, allows you to take on more customers, and saves tons of product; its a win win situation.

The shades I reviewed include:

Don’t Boss Nova me Around: a creamy opaque nude.

OPI Scores A Goal!: a deep rich burgundy eggplant. A 1 Coat Wonder!

I Sao Paulo Over There: a warm mocha brown with purple undertones. A 1 Coat Wonder!

Red Hot Rio: a bright rich ruby red.

Next Stop… The Bikini Zone: a shimmering metallic purple silver

Kiss Me I’m Brazilian: a hot summery pink.

Taupe-less Beach: a greige (gray/beige) with lavender undertones. A 1 Coat Wonder!

AmazON…AmazOFF: a deep dark jungle green.  My personal favorite in this colleciton.  A 1 Coat Wonder!

(All shades swatched here were 2 coats, cured each for 30 seconds in an LED lamp.)

I found the formula on all of the shades to be quite excellent, with much consistency. I could not recommend this collection enough.  Many of the shades, particularly the earth neutral tones, could work well year round on majority of your clients. Each gel color retails for $14.95.
