Essie Fall 2016 Collection Review

Essie Fall 2016 Collection Review 0

"There is a reason why the fashion-savvy flock to the number one street style destination in the world: Tokyo. Japan's electric capital boasts taste, flair and an uncanny aptitude for mixing fashion metaphors. If you're lucky enough to be there in the fall, you get the added picturesque pleasure of watching the autumn leaves change color against the magnificent gray backdrop of Mount Fuji in the distance. Get caught in a whirlwind of spectacular fall color fit for a Geisha, introducing essie fall 2016 collection.

From Ginza to Harajuku, it's impossible not to find yourself entranced in the mix of Tokyo's colorful surroundings! Inspired by essie Glorbal Color Designer, Rebecca Minkoff's, time in Tokyo, the essie fall 2016 collection captures the city's wild street style, electric cuisine and riot of autumnal colors.

The six shade palette of mesmerizing hues channels the changing fall foliage along with the modern and traditional sides of Tokyo's bustling city. Ranging from intense deeps to serene pastels, the essie fall 2016 collection bottles up the perfect balance of trendsetting color and classic looks.

now and zen all you need is a night on the town to maki me happy, tell the girls to kimono on over and go go geisha tonight. Tokyo is the city to forget playing koi- udon know me yet, but after a night of karaoke you'll never forget me." according to the official press release.

The essie fall 2016 collection is comprised of the following creamy colors-

Kimono Over: a deep purple grape cream. [inviting damson plum]

Playing Koi: a spiced pumpkin cream. A mix of burnt orange and brown. [flirtatious orange rust]

Go go Geisha: a dusty light pink rose cream. [antique blossom pink]

Now & Zen: an elephant gray cream. [timeless sage gray]

Maki me Happy: a deep raspberry cream.  Requires three coats for full opacity. [crimson-wrapped berry]

Udon Know Me: a washed light blue cream, with slight gray undertones. [mysterious stony blue]

(all swatches are 2 coats, unless stated otherwise, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

This is a very beautiful collection.  And I think some of the most creative, clever, and quirky names Essie has yet to come out with. Only one of the colors I am not a huge fan of, Playing Koi, but that doesn't mean others won't like it.

My personal favorites are: Kimono Over, Now and Zen, and Udon Know Me

essie's fall 2016 collection retails at $9 per 0.46 fl oz (13.5 mL) and is available now.

Honestly this is probably my most favorite Deborah Lippmann collection yet! The formula alone is so beyond remarkable you have to get it.  I have never seen an entire collection before that was all 1 Coat Wonders, including the glittery shade All Night Long. The shades are all gorgeous for the fall, and are definitely colors clients will request.  Each painted on smoothly, evenly, and effortlessly.  I didn't experience any issues whatsoever.

I am really digging this new and improved formula from Deborah, and the brush couldn't make me happier; it makes my job so much easier.

I can't speak highly enough of this collection, nor can I choose favorites.  You need all of the shades.

CND Fall 2016 Craft Culture Collection Review

CND Fall 2016 Craft Culture Collection Review 0

"Embrace the beauty in raw imperfections, earthly colors and weathered textures with the new Fall 2016 Craft Culture collection from CND. Hand- crafted artistry inspires a rich, one-of-a-kind palette that reflect authenticity, warmth and ruggedness.

"This season, smoky red oranges, deep reds and weathered blues capture the unique character of custom made goods. These rustic tones give the Craft Culture collection a rich depth for timeless Fall style," said CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. "The Fall 2016 nail silhouette is short and tight with industrial finishes, evoking the heritage of artisanal craftsmanship and honoring the enduring quality of an artisan's work." according to the official press release.

The Fall 2016 Craft Culture Shellac colors include-

Brick Knit: a terracotta brick cream.

Patina Buckle: a light raspberry with a sage green iridescent shimmer running through it.

Denim Patch: a dusty medium blue creme.

Oxblood: a deep dark blood red creme.

Hand Fired: a sparkling orangey red.

Leather Satchel: a shimmering medium tanned brown.

(all swatches shown here are two coats, cured each in an LED light for 1 minute, and are taken outdoors in natural sunlight).

Vinylux- (the Vinylux colors are the same as the Shellac accept for the following two additional colors)

Fern Flannel: a shimmering deep oceanic medium blue.

Brass Button: a glimmering yellow gold.

Additives- (comes in a set, and includes all 5 items)

Boho Beads: small round clear beads.

Russet Rage: a slightly chunky brick/rose gold glitter.

Tainted Gold: a reflective pink/purple shimmer (when burnished over black base, as shown here).

Dungarees: a shimmering deep navy blue (when burnished over black base, as shown here).

Polished Peridot: a gilded deep green (also burnished over black, as shown here).

Overall I am really impressed with this collection.  I think it speaks very well to the Fall season and weather, and will serve as a nice transition as the weather starts to cool down.  The colors are all highly wearable. I found the formulas to be all around excellent, not experiencing any issues whatsoever.

Some of my personal favorites include: Oxblood, Denim Patch, and Patina Buckle

I also really enjoy playing around and getting creative with the Additives.  I know the chrome trend is still going strong, so I wanted to play around with three of the pigments included in this Additves kit- Tainted Gold, Polished Peridot, and Dungarees.  I applied a black base, and with a non-wipe gel top coat, I burnished the Additives into the cured polish.  I thought the results were pretty great!

Shellac retails for $15.95 per 7.3 mL (.25 fl oz), Vinylux retails for $10.50 per 15 mL (.5 fl oz), and the Additives Collection is sold in a set retailing for $29.75.

Nubar Chromatic collection fall 2015 review

Nubar Chromatic collection fall 2015 review 0

Hey all.

I hope your having a great week.

I'm proud to introduce the new Chromatic Collection for Fall 2015 from Nubar.  This awesome new collection is comprised of 5 shade shifting shades that truly come to life when applied over a black base.

The Chromatic Collection from Nubar is made up of:

Moon Dance: a shimmering purple and midnight navy blue duo chrome.

Chill in the Air: a blue and purple duo chrome.  The blue in this is lighter then the shade of blue in Moon Dance.

Peacock Feathers: a purple and deep dark green duo chrome.

Bonfire: a maroon and gold duo chrome.

Amber Sparks: a bronze, gold, brown multi chrome.

(all swatches shown here are two coats laid over a single coat of Noir.  all swatches are taken outdoors in natural lighting).

Included in the kit featured in this post is all 5 colors that comprise the Chromatic Collection, a bottle of Noir, (which is a highly pigmented jet black creme; worth mentioning it provides excellent coverage with even a single coat, a Foundation Base Coat,  and a bottle of Nubar's revolutionary new top coat Poli-cure, which is a 7 day top coat that dries in under 2 minutes and offers a gel like finish.

I absolutely love this new collection.  The colors are absolutely gorgeous in person, and are very difficult to properly display via images.  The color shifting effect is simply mesmerizing.  I honestly can't stop staring! I applied two coats of each shade over a single black coat of Noir, however, you most definitely could get away with painting just one coat.

What's also really nice about these shade shifting colors is they applied very smoothly and evenly without any brush strokes or streaks, which makes me very happy.  Often chrome shades tend to be streaky, but these aren't.

My personal favorite shades in the collection are: Chill in the Air and Peacock Feathers.

Essie fall 2015 collection review

Essie fall 2015 collection review 0

"Lights? Check/ Sound? Check. Inspiring colors? You're on! Taking center stage this season is essie's fall 2015 collection inspired by iconic rock'n'roll royalty.  Fashioned after the darlings music scene, the collection captures the era's rebellious spirit and style that made it famous.  From the fierce attitude to the fashionable clothes, it's all about the perfectly stylish queen of the entourage that everyone on the a-list wants or wants to be.  Rule number one: if you want to be a muse, dress for success.

the six compelling shades of essie's fall 2015 collection capture the powerful allure of the ingenues of the classic rock era with intensely saturated hues.  Deep red smolder with brazen beauty, midnight blue wields hypnotic power and shimmering bronze emerges from the night and onto the dance floor.  Mix major attitude with killer style and seize the moment in shades tailor made to rock" according to the official press release .

The essie fall 2015 collection is comprised of the following shades-

With the Band: a dark cranberry brick red creme.  Heavily pigmented.  Essentially a 1 Coat Wonder! [toasted spice burgundy]

Color Binge: a firey orange creme with red undertones.  incredibly pigmented.  a 1 Coat Wonder. [burning red orange]

Bell- bottom Blues: a shimmering metallic dark blue. a 1 Coat Wonder. In the bottle there's a slight purple shimmer, but it doesn't quite translate to the nail once painted. [intense midnight indigo]

Frock 'n roll: a dark espresso brown shimmer.  a 1 Coat Wonder. [shimmering rich espresso]

In the Lobby: a rich eggplant aubergine creme. [exotic cinnamon plum]

Leggy Legend: a coppery metallic bronze. [alloyed bronze bombshell]

(all swatches are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural lighting.)

I really like this latest collection from Essie.  I think the colors are all beautiful and very fitting for the season.  There is something for everyone.

Aside from the gorgeous hues, I am most impressed with the formula.  I don't think I have ever come across a collection that is so richly pigmented.  What I mean by that is with even one coat, you essentially have full and complete coverage.  Many of the shades you can honestly get away with applying only one coat; saving you tons of time, product, & ultimately $$.

My personal favorites from the collection include: Frock 'n roll, Color Binge, and Leggy Legend.

essie's fall 2015 collection is out available now, & retails for $8.50 per .46 fl oz (13.5 ml) bottle.

Zoya- Focus & Flair Fall 2015 Collection Review

Zoya- Focus & Flair Fall 2015 Collection Review 0

"From Runway to Real Life!  ZOYA FOCUS & FLAIR Two exciting new Zoya Nail Polish collections arrive for FALL 2015

FOCUS (creams) The Zoya Focus Collection features six strong, solid shades that anchor a look for fall as stand-alone shades. The densely pigmented cream formula features a unique, micro-grind pigment that allows for extra-smooth, streak-free application.

FLAIR (metallics) Six, jewel toned liquid metal shades. The unique, micro-grind metallic pigment of the Zoya Flair Collection is fully blended into a vibrant base, creating the effect of brilliant colored melted metal!"  according to the press release.

The cream colors that comprise the FOCUS collection include:

Charli: a dark army green with brown undertones.  A 1 Coat Wonder! Incredible formula.  Very highly pigmented.

Desiree: a deep chocolate brown creme.  Also a 1 Coat Wonder! Has a similar formula to "Charli" mentioned above..

Janel: a crimson ruby red creme.  Also highly pigmented.

Lidia: a deep rasin purple creme.

Sia: an electric cobalt blue creme.  Highly pigmented.

Hannah: a bright cherry red creme, almost neon.  A 1 Coat wonder!! I'm obsessed.

and the six metallics that comprise the FLAIR collection include:

Aggie: a yellow gold/ green duo chrome shimmer.  For a duo chrome I was shocked to see the amount of coverage I got with even the first coat.

Tris: a metallic gunmetal.

Giada: a medium metallic purple.  A 1 coat wonder!

Estelle: a royal blue metallic shimmer.

Ember: a candy apple red shimmer. A 1 coat wonder!

Cinnamon: a rich coffee brown metallic shimmer.  Also a 1 Coat wonder!

(all swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

What I loved most about this collection was the formulas.  The colors themselves aren't anything new or terribly exciting, but the formulas of them was truly remarkable, and alone makes them worth it.

I have never in my life come across a single collection that featured so many 1 Coat Wonders in it!  The pigmentation was just simply amazing across the board.

The colors painted on so smoothly and easily including all of the metallic shades.  Usually metallic shades leave awful brush strokes, but not these! Flawless, smooth, application with tremendous ease.

My personal favorite shades include: Sia, Hannah, Ember, and Tris

$9 (US), Available in top salons, spas and on zoya.com

* **BIG5FREE, TOXIN FREE: Zoya Nail Polish Formula contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene or camphor.

Cuccio Royale Fall 2015 Collection Review

Cuccio Royale Fall 2015 Collection Review 0

"Cuccio Royale-The Fall 2015 collection is a majestic mix of emotionally inspired autumn hues and rich jewel tones. Each luxurious shade of our triple pigmented lacquer and matching soak off gel colour are infused with a bit of creamy couture and sexy shimmer topped off with an imperial high gloss shine only a true princess could appreciate.

Scandalous, mysterious and steeped in old world charm, this regal collection puts your client first in line as heir to the throne of the kingdom of colour.

Cuccio Royale is by far our crowning achievement to date," according to the press release.

The Cuccio Royale Fall 2015 collection includes:

Prince I've been gone: a deep dark jungle green creme with teal undertones. (teal)

Duke it out: an espresso brown shimmer.

Crown Jewels: a gilded coppery yellow gold metallic.  Like most metallic gels, be very careful when applying to avoid making brushstrokes. (copper with green metallic undertones)

That's so Kingky: a rich berry creme.

Count me in: a deep dusty purple creme. (purple)

Wild Knights: a midnight navy blue creme.

Dancing Queen: a medium blue shimmer.  Kind of on the sheer side, I would recommend doing three coats of this color for full opacity.

Royal Flush: a dark burgundy shimmer.

(all swatches shown here are two coats, cured each for 30 seconds in an LED light, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

I review a lot of collections that come my way, and I must admit that this is the first collection that actually reads Fall to me.  So many other brands have included bright or pastel shades in their fall color palette, which makes zero sense to me.

I think the shades are great in this collection, they will make for excellent fall manicures.  I like that Cuccio has introduced some new metallics and shimmers to the mix.  I also think the names are getting way more fun & tongue-&-cheek.

I found the shades to be well pigmented, and they painted on smoothly and evenly.  The only shade I would advise being a little careful when painting is with Crown Jewels, just to avoid any major streaking.

My personal favorites include: Crown Jewels & Dancing Queen.

The Cuccio Royale Fall 2015 collection will be available soon, and will retail for approximately $11.95 per 13 ml bottle (.44 fl oz)

CHANEL Nail Colour Fall 2015 Review

CHANEL Nail Colour Fall 2015 Review 0

Hey guys,

I hope your all having a wonderful week thus far  I know I sure am.

I am so beyond excited, thrilled, privileged, honored, and overjoyed to say the least to present to you all the latest collection of nail polish from none other than CHANEL- what in my opinion is literally the "Holy Grail" of nail polishes.

"Discover a rich tapesty of shades inspired by beautiful fall foliage.  Earthy neutrals dress eyes in natural splendor, while copper tones and deep reds blaze on the lips.  An ideal complement to autumnal colour, a new manicure range helps prep and perfect any nail look," according to the official press release.

the CHANEL Fall 2015 Nail Colour collection includes the following three shades:

Chataigne (669): a semi-sweet dark chocolate creme.

Vert Obscur (679): a deep dark forest green jelly with slight teal undertones.  I am obsessed with the jelly formula.  It almost has some translucency to it.  The color builds up beautifully in just two coats too.  Also happens to be my personal favorite of the three!

Ecorce Sanguine (671): a red apple creme with a very faint fine shimmer running through it.  Also has slight blue undertones.

(All swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

I am very pleased with this latest collection from CHANEL. I think the colors are all very pretty and highly wearable.  These are shades I know for sure my clients will be asking me for time and time again.

I found the formula to be absolutely divine.  The colors were all incredibly richly pigmented, and painted on smoothly and effortlessly, with absolutely zero brushstrokes. Don't get me started on the jelly formula of Vert Obscur.  I don't have any other polishes in my immense arsenal that even come close.  Not only is the color very unique, but that jelly formula I just absolutely Love and can''t get enough of.

The bottles fit perfectly in the palm of your hand and are so easy to work with.  The paint brush is phenomenal, allowing you to paint perfectly and with tremendous ease.  And the neck of the bottle is relatively thin, and in my opinion, wipes off any and all access paint from the brush, so each and every time you have the perfect amount of product to work with.

I highly recommend all three shades, but if you have to pick just one, my personal favorite would have to be Vert Obscur.

The CHANEL Fall 2015 Nail Colour collection is out and available now for a limited time and retails for $27 per 0.4 fl oz (13 ml) bottle.

For more information on CHANEL or to purchase online, check them out here: http://www.chanel.com/

CND Additives Fall 2015 Contradictions Collection

CND Additives Fall 2015 Contradictions Collection 0

"Turn up the contrast with the new Fall 2015 Contradictions collection from CND. Textures and tones collide for an unexpected elegance: leather and lace, street and chic, metal and pearl.

“This season’s trends celebrate an unexpected clash between gritty street elements and elegant details for a dynamic combination of glamour and grunge,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails evoke an edgy narrative with blackened pigments and heraldic ornaments. Enhanced almonds in purple and red are deepened and oxidized with smoked pearl and steel finishes” according to the press release.

The CND Fall 2015 Additives Contradictions Collection includes:

Jaded Rebel: (pigment effect) a deep shimmering jade green pigment powder.

Midnight Revelry: (glitter) a gunmetal gray glitter.

Crystal Crush: (glitter) irregularly shaped iridescent blue glitter sliver chunks.  My personal favorite Additives in the collection.  Looks insanely gorgeous over black or similar dark hues.

Amethyst Blast: (glitter) a dark purple bar glitter.

Whiteout: (glitter) a white circular matte glitter.

(all swatches shown here are taken in outdoor light and for the most part are done on both white and black backgrounds to show different levels of effects that can be achieved).

I have always been a big fan and advocate for CND's Additives, and sure enough this latest collection manages to exceed my expectations.  What I love most about the Additives is the creative freedom.  CND enables and empowers you, the technician, to create endless and such imaginative works of art, you are only limited by your own imagination.  I think this latest collection of theirs offers a nice variety of completely different textures, that can certainly enhance and add some rich ornamental fun to any manicure; from bar glitters, to fine pigments, to glitter flecks that resemble shards of glass.

My personal favorites in this collection are: Midnight Revelry & Crystal Crush.

The CND Fall 2015 Additives Contradictions Collection sells for $29.75 for the set of 5, and is available now.

For more info on CND,  check them out online here: http://www.cnd.com/

CND Shellac Fall 2015 Contradictions Collection Review

CND Shellac Fall 2015 Contradictions Collection Review 0

"Turn up the contrast with the new Fall 2015 Contradictions collection from CND. Textures and tones collide for an unexpected elegance: leather and lace, street and chic, metal and pearl.

“This season’s trends celebrate an unexpected clash between gritty street elements and elegant details for a dynamic combination of glamour and grunge,” says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “Nails evoke an edgy narrative with blackened pigments and heraldic ornaments. Enhanced almonds in purple and red are deepened and oxidized with smoked pearl and steel finishes.” according to the press release.

CND Shellac Fall 2015 Contradictions Collection includes:

Safety Pin: a semi sheer glistening platinum shimmer.  I have 2 coats in the swatch shown here, but for full opacity I would recommend going with 3 thin coats.

Rouge Rite: a darkened magenta creme with wine undertones.

Peacock Plume: a bold shimmering medium blue.

Naked Naivete: a nude creme with slight rose pink undertones.

Poison Plum: a semi sheer deepened plum purple with purple glitter specs in it.  This is a very different shade for CND.

Tartan Punk: a glowing ruby shimmering red.

(all swatches shown here are 2 coats, cured each for 60 seconds in the CND LED lamp, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

I personally Love how dramatic and elaborate the descriptions of the collection are from Jan Arnold.  I mean anyone who says "heraldic ornaments" is inherently amazing in my book, and Jan most definitely is amazing!

Collection descriptions aside, I think this is a wonderful transitional collection for customers to comfortably go from bold bright summer colors, to a more autumnal color palette.  I think there is something offered up here for everyone.  Each shade painted on smoothly and evenly in two coats.

My personal favorite shades include: Tartan Punk, Peacock Plume, & Naked Naivete

Also featured here in this post is the brand new Shellac Xpress5 Top Coat.  This revolutionary gel top coat soaks off in just five minutes.  I am so beyond obsessed with this product I can't even tell you.  This makes my life so much easier, and literally cuts my soak off/removal time in half, from 10 minutes down to just 5.  My clients are also very happy and appreciative. ^_^

CND Contradictions Collection is available worldwide July, 2015, and retails for $15.95 per .25 fl oz (7.3 mL) bottle.

Color Club Seven Deadly Sins- Fall 2014 Swatches

Color Club Seven Deadly Sins- Fall 2014 Swatches 0

Good afternoon all.  I hope everyone had a great start to their week!

Today I've got the Fall 2014 collection from Color Club to share with you all, "Seven Deadly Sins."  According to the press release, "7 matte, textured glitters. Each of the deep, sexy hues was created to bring out the bad girl in all of us. Being sinful never felt so glamorous"

The Seven Deadly Sins collection includes:

Friends with Benefits: a light lavender with silver undertones.

Fierce: a scintillating medium toned purple with brown cafe undertones.

Obsessed: a midnight peacock teal.

Under Your Spell: a purple glitter with flashes of green and gold shimmer depending on the light's reflection.

Indulge Me: a coppery bronze.

Dirty Money: a light blonde yellow gold.

You're So Vain: a multi-faceted deep dark purple.

(each swatch shown here was two coats for full opacity, with NO base or top coat.)

Overall I was very impressed with the collection.  What I love Most about matte textured glitter polishes is that they do not require a base or top coat.  Not only does that save product being used, but more importantly it saves a tremendous amount of time.  I found each of the polishes removed very easily, which is usually a major struggle removing glitter.  The polishes all dried incredibly fast, which is always a huge Plus in my book.  And I found each of the colors to be highly saturated in pigment.  With two coats I got complete coverage.

My personal favorite from this collection include: You're so Vain, Under Your Spell, and Obsessed.

The Seven Deadly Sins polishes retail for $8.50 each.

Essie Fall 2014 Swatches + Review

Essie Fall 2014 Swatches + Review 0

Hello all! I hope everyone had a greart start to their week yesterday! Today I'vee got the latest collection from Essie for fall 2014 to share with you, "Dress to Kilt".  Six new sumptuous shades to help transition from a hot summer to a chill and crisp fall.

According to the press release, "Live dangerously.  Dress flawlessley.  Inspired by a woman's undeniable feminine mystique, essie's fall 2014 collection delivers shades so chic it is almost criminal.

This collection is for the international woman of mystery who's confident and confidential all rolled into one seductive creature... this season is all about channeling this feminine mystique with shadowy shades that exude mystery."

The Dress to Kilt collection includes:

Partner in Crime: a deep dark chocolate brown.

Fall in Line: a dusty jade green with gray undertones.

Style Cartel: a bold royal blue.

Dress to Kilt: a cranberry red.

The Perfect Cover Up: a dark peacock teal.

Take it Outside: a creamy beige taupe.

(all swatches shown here are two coats.  Some images are taken indoors and others outdoors, to show different perspective on the colors.)

First off, I must say how impressed I was with this collection's formula.  Each shade was so highly saturated with pigment, I received complete and full coverage with a single coat of each shade! I could not believe it.  Nonetheless, I used the traditional two coat method just to make sure each swatch was properly evened out.

I think the color palette is excellent for a transition to the fall months.   In all likelihood Essie will come out with a separate winter collection, so these shades I truly believe are excellent transitions before people start wearing very deep dark shades on their nails.

Essie's fall 2014 collection retails for approximately $8.50 per bottle, and is available now.

Deborah Lippmann- New York Marquee Fall ’14 Swatches + Review

Deborah Lippmann- New York Marquee Fall ’14 Swatches + Review 0

I am very excited to introduce the latest collection from Deborah Lippmann for fall 2014- New York Marquee.  Six brand new foil chrome finish polishes that light up the sky!

According to Lippmann's site, "Lights, camera glamour! Nails take the center stage in rich, radiant color inspired by New York Art Deco."

The New York Marquee collection includes:

12th Street Rag: a magenta pink with a chrome foil finish.

I'll Take Manhattan: an aqua green foil chrome with a sea blue undertone. Very Ariel from "The Little Mermaid."

Harlem Nocturne: a vivid indigo foil chrome with purple undertones.

Autumn in New York: a gorgeous gilded yellow gold foil chrome.

Lullaby of Broadway: a rose gold foil chrome with silver undertones.

Take the "A" Train: a true gunmetal foil chrome.

(all swatches shown here are two coats, applied over a ridge filling base coat.)

As a whole I really love this collection! Good foil chromes are very difficult to come by on the market, and these truly pack a punch.  They are all highly saturated in pigment, and covered the nail fully in a single coat.  I highly recommend using a ride filling base coat, for as you can see in some of my pictures, any and all imperfections will become visible.  That's just the nature of chrome finish polishes.  The polishes dried very quickly, which is always a major plus in my book.  I strongly suggest painting with the traditional 3-step method, down the sides, then a final stripe down the middle, to avoid brushstrokes.  It might seem like these polishes are difficult to work with, but they really aren't, and the end results are truly phenomenal and well worth it.  The ancient proverb still holds true- practice makes perfect.

My personal favorites from the collection include: Lullaby of Broadway, Take the "A" Train, and Harlem Nocturne.

Each of the colors in the New York Marquee collection retails for $20.

ASP “Flair for Fall” 2014 Collection- Swatches + Review

ASP “Flair for Fall” 2014 Collection- Swatches + Review 0

The latest collection of gel polishes from ASP (All Season Professional) has just arrived- "Flair For Fall".  Four new coffee inspired hues, two cremes and two shimmers, that are the perfect pick me up for the soon to be chilly weather.

The Flair for Fall collection includes:

Sweater Weather: a beautiful light mocha brown shimmer. Has a faint purple undertone to it depending on the light's reflection. A very unique gel color I have not come across before.

Cuddle Up: a shimmering nude taupe.  This is a perfect neutral shade that can be worn year round.

Hot Cocoa Morning: a rich dark chocolate brown, with deep purple undertones.

Spice as Nice!: a medium brown with burgundy undertones.

(All swatches shown here are two coats, cured each for 30 seconds in an LED light.  Also, all photos are taken outdoors in natural light to show most accurate color depiction).

All in all I really adore this latest collection from ASP.  The formula was great and really easy to work with.  Each color was highly pigmented, and covered completely in two coats.  I think they are all highly wearable shades that are perfect for the coming fall season.  All the shades are a great way to transition from summer to fall, prior to the brutal harsh cold of winter.

ASP gel polishes are sold exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply stores, and have an excellent low price point in my opinion; and Sally Beauty stores always seem to be offering some sort of special discount, so make sure to keep a look out.
