Dermelect Cosmeceuticals ‘Me’ Unearthed Collection review

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals ‘Me’ Unearthed Collection review 0

"Bringing to life a palette of modern earth tones that evoke the rich, diverse hues found in nature, Dermelect Cosmeceuticals' brand new 'ME' 2016 Unearthed Collection features six vibrant shades that marry the beauty of Mother Nature with the opulence of high fashion runway trends.

"The Unearthed Collection was inspired by the colors of the season, which are drawn from various elements of nature, including lava, copper, soil and bright foliage," said Elle, Celebrity Nail Tech and Dermelect Color Curator. "Our palette is meant to awaken a new appreciation for nature's unparalleled beauty by delivering modern earth tones that are equally varied in color and texture yet come together to create unexpected synergy."

Beyond importing gorgeous, long-lasting color on nails and toes, Dermelect's Unearthed Collection gives back to the earth it draws inspiration from by partnering with the non-profit Trees for the Future ( The brand has committed to plant one, new tree for every polish sold from the collection through April 2017 with a minimum donation of 10,000 trees planted.  Trees for the Future improves the livelihoods of impoverished farmers by revitalizing degraded lands and planting over 128 million trees over the world to help people break out of poverty and address the global environment.

"Trees for the Future is thrilled to partner with Dermelect," said John Leary, Executive Director of Trees for the Future. "We applaud Dermelect for their commitment to making this planet a more beautiful place." according to the official press release.

The Unearthed Collection is comprised of the following shades-

Diggin' You: a brown cream, with slight mauve/purple undertones. [creme burnt umber]

To the Core: a chrome orangey/copper. [russet copper]

Verdure: a dark mysterious jungle green cream. [lush hunter green]

What A Gem: a light pearlized pink. [shimmery pale quartz]

Nobody's Fool: a shiny yellow gold with very yellow undertones. [chrome marigold]

Magmatized: a deep cranberry crimson red cream. [fiery red]

(all swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

After reading the story behind the collection I was not only quite moved, but I had a new found respect for the colors.  Everything suddenly made complete sense and told a story.  At first glance I felt the shades were highly autumnal and told a story, but after reading about the inspiration behind the collection and the charity aspect I was pleasantly pleased and surprised.

The colors are very gorgeous and take on a life of their own.  Some of the shades I think perhaps are more desirable than others, but needles to say, that doesn't mean someone out there might have a huge love and penchant for copper polish.

I found all the colors painted on smoothly and evenly, including Nobody's Fool, which I anticipated to be quite streaky; the nature of the beast.

My personal favorites include: Diggin' You and What A Gem.

The Polishes retail for $14 each [11 ml or .4 fl oz], or $29 as a set, and are available now on

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals ME Spring 2016 Outburst Collection Review

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals ME Spring 2016 Outburst Collection Review 0

"Evoking a sense of renewal by energizing the season's most exuberant colors, Dermelect Cosmeceuticals' new 'ME' Spring 2016 Outburst Collection features an exciting palette, ranging from soft hues to bright statements.

"We want to provide our clients with an avenue to express their individuality and personal style," explained Jodi Lavian, Dermelect Co-Founder.

Featuring four unmistakably unique shades, the collection is fresh, on-trend and vibrant.  Dermelect's new lacquers create a covetable, long-lasting manicure, as all four colors boast richly pigmented formulas with Dermelect's signature keratin protein peptide that works to strengthen nails and extend the life of the manicure.

Celebrity Nail Tech Elle personally mixed the formula to incorporate vivid tones married with shimmer and metallic accents to provide an abstract, unexpected quality.

"We're inspired by Outburst- these shades command attention! Through these stunning colors, Outburst lets you stand out and be heard, to express yourself and your personality...Dermelect's twist on traditional, more muted colors of spring brought out four bold, new hues that are on trend, elegant and in charge," according to the official press release.

The Spring 2016 Outburst Collection consists of the following shades-

Impromptu: a shimmering dusty rose pink with lavender undertones.

Explosive: a bright coral cream.

Unscripted: a lilac cream. A 1 Coat Wonder!!

Frenzy: a metallic aqua blue.

(all swatches shown here are two full coats, taken outdoors in natural light).

Talk about a fun, bold, bright collection for Spring; this is what I'm talking about people 😉  I have come across a few Spring collections as of recent that didn't really make sense to me. This however makes total sense.

I found the formulation to be great.  I didn't experience any issues with the colors, including the metallic Frenzy.  Typically metallic shades of this nature can be very streaky, but not this one.

I also found most of the colors to be very well pigmented.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but if I had to, I would have to say Frenzy and Impromptu.

Dermelect's 'ME' Spring 2016 Outbrust Collection retails for $14 each and as a set for $29. The bottles are 0.4 fl oz (11 mL).

Dermelect ME Holiday Collection for Winter 2015

Dermelect ME Holiday Collection for Winter 2015 0

"Dermelect Cosmeceuticals is thrilled to introduce its first "ME" Holiday Collection for Winter 2015.  Featuring four season-inspired hues that combine sophistication and fun with a dose of merriment to holiday nails.  Hold me, Thrill "ME", Kiss "ME", and Sleigh "ME", combine the joyful spirit of the holiday season with refined elegance.  Utilizing Dermelect's signature keratin protein peptide to help strengthen nails and extend length of a manicure, this lavish collection of colors steer clear from the hazy shades of winter and create a sexy and coveted manicure that is both festive and beautfiul.

Celebrity nail tech Elle developed this limited edition collection exclusively for Dermelect.  Elle combined jewel tones with glimmering neutrals to encapsulate the season's jubilance with sophistication.  "This collection's colors bring out the holiday spirit and look glamorous on all skin tones," says Elle, Dermelect Color Curator.  "I love how the shades add a little sparkle to nails, especially for year end festivities," according to the official press release.

Key Ingredient: Keratin Protein Peptide- Hydrolyzed Keratin extracted from New Zealan Sheep's wool that helps strengthen the nails.

  • Strengthens weak, brittle nails
  • Restores nail flexibility
  • Helps nails resist chipping and splitting
  • Provides long-lasting, high shine and bold color
  • Water and detergent resistant
  • Protects against UV rays
  • 5 free
  • Cruelty free, no animal testing ever.

The four new Dermelect shades comprising the Holiday 2015 collection include:

Sleigh "ME": a multi-dimensional glistening white glitter. (arctic shimmer)

Kiss "ME": a deep dark crimson red shimmer. (velvet crimson)

Thrill "ME": a dark forest green pearl.  (frosted evergreen)

Hold "ME": a black base with holographic multi fine glitter. (sparkled midnight noir)

(all swatches shown here are two coats, and are taken outdoors in natural light).

I absolutely LOVE this collection.  I think the four colors are perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing.  The formulas were very liquid smooth, and didn't give me any issues whatsoever; I didn't experience any streakiness which usually occurs with metallic finishes like Kiss "ME" and Thrill "ME" have.  I think all of the colors show a lot of depth and dimension.  In particular, I love how prismatic the multi flecks of Hold "ME" and Sleigh "ME" shine throughout.

I highly recommend you pick up all four limited edition shades before its too late.  It's so hard for me to pick only one favorite, but if I absolutely have to choose, I would say Sleigh "ME".

Dermelect's "ME" Holiday Nail Collection, available in November 2015, retails for $14 per .4 fl oz (11 mL) bottle.

Dermelect’s “Anti-Aging” Polish Line

Dermelect’s “Anti-Aging” Polish Line 0

Hey guys.  I am very excited to introduce Dermelect Cosmeceuticals ME nail lacquer line, the 1st Peptide- Infused, Anti-Aging nail treatment line.

As the brand states: as you age, your nails lose protein.  This line was designed and developed to treat and prevent 9 symptoms of aging nails:

1. chipping 2. splitting 3. peeling 4. thin 5. weak 6. ridged 7. discolored 8. acrylic/gel damaged 9. hard- to- grow.

The polishes are infused with a hydrolyzed keratin peptide, a pure protein extracted from New Zealand sheep's wool... which helps provide strength for stubborn nails to grow longer and more resistant to chipping, peeling, and splitting.

The polish line boasts multiple benefits, including:

- Strengthens weak, brittle nails  - Restores nail flexibility  - Helps nails resist chipping and splitting  - Long- lasting, high shine and bold color  - Water and detergent resistant  -Protects against UV rays  - 5 Free  - No animal testing, ever!

The four colors I have to share with you all come from their Bejeweled Collection, which was released last fall.

Gilded: a golden- green textured duo-chrome. The colors shift from green to gold with the light's reflection.  If you don't prefer the texture, you can always use a top coat.

Belle Epoque: a rich chocolate espresso brown creme.

Lustrous: a burnt brick red with brown undertones, in a micro fine glitter/shimmer.

Heirloom: a midnight navy blue with fine purple shimmer.

(all swatches shown here are two coats, taken outdoors in natural sunlight).

I really enjoyed the collection and quality of the polishes.  I didn't experience any issues whatsoever.  They painted on smoothly and evenly in two coats, without giving me any remote troubles like being streaky or not heavily pigmented enough.

If you are one who suffers from dry, weak, brittle nails, this is an excellent polish line for you.  And even if you don't suffer from those issues, yet run a salon with clients who do suffer, than you too should look into carrying the line in your salon.

The Dermelect ME nail polishes are available now and retail for $14-$16 per .4 fl oz bottle.  Did I mention them come in awesome, and highly unique clear tube packaging!
